Effective from 5 September 2026. These terms replace all previous versions.
1. Who we are
The shop at www.daliborfarny.com is operated by Glow tube research, s.r.o., Czech Republic, company ID (IČ) 29204551, VAT ID CZ29204551, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Regional Court in Brno, section C, insert 65485.

In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean Glow tube research, s.r.o., and “you” means the customer.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to every purchase made through www.daliborfarny.com. Some rights described below are granted by law only to consumers, meaning natural persons buying outside their trade or business. Those sections say so.
Some products presented on our website are sold by our partners on their own websites. Purchases made there are governed by the partner’s terms, not by these.
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you have read these terms.
3. Our products
Our nixie tubes and clocks are made by hand in small series. Small variations in glass, finish, colour and glow are a natural part of the craft and are not defects. Product photographs are illustrative and colours may render differently on your screen.
Nixie tubes operate on high voltage inside the clock. Use the products only as described in the manual supplied with them and available at docs.daliborfarny.com. Limited editions are produced in the quantity stated on the product page and are individually numbered.
4. Ordering and conclusion of the contract
You place an order by adding products to the cart, entering your details and confirming the order in the checkout. Before you confirm, you can review and correct everything you have entered. The order is your binding offer to buy. The purchase contract is concluded when we confirm your order by e-mail. The contract is concluded in English and we store it electronically; you receive a copy of the order by e-mail.
We may refuse or cancel an order, and refund any payment in full, if a product is no longer available, if the price or description contained an obvious error, if we cannot ship to your destination, or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud. We will tell you as soon as possible.
5. Prices, VAT and import charges
All prices are in euro (EUR). Prices on product pages are shown without VAT; the VAT and shipping cost for your destination are shown in the cart and at checkout before you confirm the order.
- Delivery within the European Union: VAT at the rate of the country of delivery is added at checkout. EU businesses that enter a valid EU VAT number at checkout are invoiced without VAT under the reverse-charge mechanism.
- Delivery outside the European Union: no Czech VAT is charged. Import VAT, customs duties and any carrier handling fees of the destination country are not included in the price and are payable by you on delivery, unless the product page states otherwise. Where we ship from a local partner warehouse (currently the USA, Australia and China), the shipment is domestic and no import charges normally apply.
Shipping costs depend on the product and destination and are shown before you confirm the order. Shipping within the Czech Republic is free.
6. Payment
We accept major payment cards (processed by Stripe) and PayPal. Payment is due when you place the order. Card details are entered directly with the payment provider and are never stored by us. An invoice is sent to your e-mail address. The products remain our property until the price has been paid in full.
7. Delivery
Orders are shipped from our workshop in the Czech Republic or, for some regions (currently the USA, Australia and New Zealand, and China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), from a partner warehouse on our behalf. Products in stock are usually dispatched within 3 business days; for products made to order the lead time is stated on the product page. Delivery times shown are estimates and depend on the carrier and on customs clearance.
We ship with tracked services (DHL Express, FedEx, USPS or a comparable carrier) and send you the tracking number by e-mail. Local pickup in Březolupy is available by appointment.
Please check the parcel on delivery. If it is damaged, or if the product arrives damaged, tell us as soon as possible, ideally within a few days and with photographs, so that we can claim with the carrier and resolve it quickly. If you are a consumer, the risk of loss or damage passes to you when you or a person named by you takes over the goods. If you are a business, the risk passes when we hand the goods to the carrier.
If a parcel is returned to us because it could not be delivered or was not collected, we will contact you; the cost of re-delivery is borne by you.
8. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer with a delivery address in the European Union, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of the day you (or a person named by you) received the goods, without giving a reason.
- To withdraw, send us a clear statement by e-mail to contact@farny.cz before the 14-day period ends. You may use the model form at the end of these terms, but you do not have to.
- Send the goods back no later than 14 days after you told us you are withdrawing. Goods delivered within the EU are returned to our workshop at Březolupy 90, 687 13 Březolupy, Czech Republic. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods; we recommend an insured, tracked service.
- We refund all payments we received from you, including the cost of standard delivery to you (but not any extra cost of a faster option you chose), within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have sent proof that you shipped them. We refund using the same payment method you used, unless you agree otherwise.
- You are liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is needed to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
- The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, for example engraved or custom-configured items.
9. 30-day returns (all customers)
Beyond the statutory right above, we accept the return of unused products in their original packaging from any country within 30 days of delivery. Products shipped from one of our partner warehouses are returned within that region; we will give you the return address when you contact us. The conditions are on our Return policy page.
10. Defects, statutory rights and our 10-year guarantee
Statutory rights. If you are a consumer, you may claim defects that appear within two years of delivery. A defect that appears within the first year is presumed to have existed at delivery. Depending on the defect you may ask for repair or replacement, a reasonable price reduction, or, where the defect is significant or we fail to remedy it, withdraw from the contract. These rights are given by law and are not limited by our guarantee.
Our guarantee. In addition, all our nixie tubes and clocks come with a 10-year guarantee from the date of purchase, on the conditions described on our Warranty page.
How to make a claim. Write to contact@farny.cz with your order number, a description of the problem and, if possible, photographs or a short video. We will tell you how to proceed; please do not send anything back before we have agreed on it. For consumers, we settle a claim within 30 days of receiving it. If the claim is justified we bear the cost of repair or replacement and the shipping both ways.
The statutory rights and the guarantee do not cover damage caused by use contrary to the manual, by modification or repair by anyone not authorised by us, by an unsuitable power supply, by accident, or by normal wear.
11. Liability
We are liable for damage caused by a breach of our obligations to the extent required by law. If you are a business customer, our liability is limited to the price paid for the product, except in cases of intent or gross negligence or where the law does not allow such a limitation. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability towards consumers.
12. Intellectual property
The designs of our tubes and clocks, the texts, photographs and videos on this website and the Dalibor Farny name and logo are protected. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission. Buying a product does not transfer any intellectual property rights.
13. Personal data
We process your personal data to fulfil your order and as described in our Privacy policy. Subscribing to our newsletter is voluntary and you can unsubscribe at any time.
14. Complaints, disputes and governing law
If you are unhappy with anything, write to contact@farny.cz and we will do our best to resolve it.
If you are a consumer in the European Union and we cannot settle a dispute, you may turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, Štěpánská 796/44, 110 00 Praha 1, coi.gov.cz) for out-of-court settlement. Consumers from other EU countries may also contact the European Consumer Centre in their country.
These terms and every contract concluded under them are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Disputes are decided by the courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory law gives you the right to sue elsewhere.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time you place an order applies to that order. Questions about these terms can be sent to contact@farny.cz.
