Nixie Machine NT-163 is anything but compact: the clock rises 1.63 metres (5 ft 3 in) tall, its three burnished-steel legs supporting a vertical spine that recalls a scientific beacon. From that spine, six large Dalibor Farny R | Z568M tubes glow in two stacked tiers, showing hours, minutes, and seconds in warm orange light.

A Wi-Fi–enabled controller hidden in the bronze base keeps atomic-level time via NTP, offers slot-machine roll-overs, night dimming, and browser-based settings. Each NT-163 contains 350-plus hand-finished parts—bent steel conduits, milled brass joints, oxidised fasteners—all fabricated and assembled in Frank Buchwald’s Berlin atelier. Issued in just six signed and numbered pieces for MB&F’s M.A.D.Gallery, the NT-163 transforms the familiar clock into a towering retro-futurist sculpture.
