We’re on it, Comrades!

For the 2024 Czech sci-fi comedy To se vysvětlí, soudruzi! (“We’re On It, Comrades!”)—an eight-episode show about a government bureau that investigates paranormal phenomena—our workshop built a small fleet of bespoke Nixie-tube clocks to dress the on-screen laboratories and briefing rooms. Each prop runs on our R-series tubes, chosen for their warm glow and Cold War aesthetic that matches the series’ retro-futuristic sets.

One of the clocks is a first for us: its case was designed entirely by an AI image generator. We fed the production team’s mood-board into the model, selected the most promising concept, converted it to CAD, then machined, soldered and wired the object in our Czech workshop—turning an AI sketch into a working timepiece in under four weeks. Together with the more traditional hand-drawn designs, the AI clock appears throughout the series, making We’re On It, Comrades! the latest screen project to feature our tubes and the very first to showcase an AI-conceived Farny clock.
